Airport transfers
Perth’s domestic and international airport is around 10km east of the city along the Great Eastern Highway. Many international flights make Perth their first stop in Australia, especially those from Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa. The domestic network offers frequent, direct flights from all the other capitals and some regional centres. Perth is a three-hour flight from Melbourne or Sydney. Key airline contacts include:

Shuttle
The Perth Airport City Shuttle has several convenient pick-up points located near hotels, motels and hostels in Perth. At Terminal 1 (International), the Perth Airport City Shuttle meets every arrival within 45 minutes of customs clearance. This service is also available at the domestic terminals, with the Perth Airport City Shuttle meeting each domestic arrival within 30 minutes of luggage collection. Taxis
Taxi ranks are located outside Terminal 1 (International) and Terminals 2 & 3 (Domestic) and commissionaires are available to assist you during peak movement periods. You may be asked to pay your fare in advance, and the same fare applies to both a group or single person. There is no extra charge for luggage, although taxis will add a A$2.00 ground transport charge for Terminal 1 and Terminals 2 & 3. Passengers will be encouraged to multi-fare during peak times. Cost is approximately $30.00 from domestic terminal to Perth City and $38.00 from the international terminal to Perth City (costs as at December 2010). Taxi transfers from the Perth airports take approximately 30 minutes to get to the city, where the conference and adjacent accommodation is located.
Public transport
Transperth operate a bus service to and from the domestic terminals at Perth Airport. Bus 37 runs weekday and weekend return services from Kings Park to the domestic terminals, via the city. To view the timetables for Bus 37, please visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au. Please note that Transperth does not operate bus services to Terminal 1 (International) at Perth Airport. Perth has a free bus service that operates around central business district. These buses are called CATS (central area transport service) and service the free transit zone (FTZ). The buses have a set route and arrive approximately every 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the route, time of day and day of the week. For more information, please contact Transperth on 1300 666 806.
Travel insurance
The Congress Managers recommend that delegates purchase travel insurance including cover for non-refundable Congress registration fees. Travel insurance must be purchased in the country of residence.
Visa
All travellers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are legally required to hold a valid visa or electronic travel authority (ETA). It is your responsibility to ensure documentation is correct and completed before you commence your journey. Delegates must register for the Congress before lodging their visa/ETA application. Following your registration, you will receive an acknowledgement letter. This is all you require from the Congress Managers in order to make your visa/ETA application. We recommend you apply for your visa/ETA at least 10 weeks before you travel (earlier in some cases).
