Workshop objectives

The Alumina Quality Workshop provides a forum to raise and discuss issues of interest in the production of smelter grade alumina. As in past workshops, AQW 2008 seeks to attract contributions relating to cost, quality, efficiency, value, safety, environmental, community interactions and other areas relevant to the production and use of alumina. The theme of the AQW 2008 workshop will be “Alumina for the 21st Century”, with topics covering exploration, mining, refining, smelter impacts, residue disposal and rehabilitation.

The workshop will highlight overall industry value for the 21st century, including aspects of environmental stewardship and community benefit.
