Invitation to participate

On behalf of the organising committee and Rio Tinto Alcan, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th International Alumina Quality Workshop to be held at the new Darwin Convention & Exhibition Centre from 7 to 12 September 2008.

The workshop organising committee is creating a world class program focusing on key topics and issues in the alumina industry of the 21st Century. Following the success of the Perth workshop in 2005, the program will be organised in plenary symposia followed by parallel technical sessions.

Authors, experts and industry professionals are invited to submit brief abstracts for consideration in the technical program.

It is anticipated more than 300 delegates will attend this prestigious workshop, with one of the highlights being a technical tour showcasing the latest $US2+b expansion at the Rio Tinto Alcan Gove refinery, and mine and residue rehabilitation areas at Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory.

The workshop will also include an exclusive industry exhibition. Click here to obtain a copy of the Exhibition Prospectus.

To supplement the technical program, the workshop social program will showcase the best that the “Top End” has to offer. The social program will provide an ideal opportunity to network with colleagues and industry associates in a relaxed and unique environment.

Rio Tinto Alcan is proud to host this important industry event. The organising committee looks forward to welcoming you to Darwin, Australia in September 2008.
